Matching
gifts, foundation giving, and memorial gifts
MATCHING GIFTS - Are you concerned about the future of our planet and all its inhabitants? Do you work for AT&T, Bank of America, GEICO, IBM, Sony, or NCR? These companies and many more will match their employees' and often retirees' contributions to the Zoological Society of San Diego to aid in wildlife conservation.
On behalf of endangered species preservation, we encourage you to ask your company for a matching gift form to complete and mail with your gift to: Zoological Society of San Diego, Development Department, P.O. Box 120551, San Diego, California, 92112-0551. For more information on matching gifts, contact us using our online form.
FOUNDATION GIVING - If you are affiliated with a grant-making foundation—perhaps a family foundation—we would like to hear from you. The Society, a 501(c)3 organization, has a wide variety of projects and programs in need of funding—from major capital projects to small equipment, as well as local and global wildlife conservation, preschool education through postgraduate internships, and programs benefiting the disadvantaged.
To learn more, please call Judy Kinsell at (619) 685-3216, or contact us using our online form.
MEMORIAL GIFTS - Thank you for considering the Zoological Society of San Diego in planning a memorial tribute to your loved one. The contribution you make is a gift that helps us create and maintain a living legacy enjoyed by millions of people each year at our San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park.
When a memorial donation is made, the Zoological Society will send a handsome acknowledgment card on behalf of the loved one’s family. The family is also notified of each gift made (without specifying the amount.)
Friends and family members may wish to establish long-term recognition for a loved one:
- For a contribution of gifts totaling $1,000, your loved one will be listed on a beautiful group plaque at the Zoo or Wild Animal Park.
- For a gift of $2,500, he or she will be memorialized on a column tile at the Wild Animal Park.
- For contributions totaling $25,000, your loved one will be honored individually on a bench plaque at either location.
For more information, please call the Development Department at (619) 685-3218, or contact us using our online form.
Help Fund Our Programs
The Zoological Society of San Diego offers a number of different programs to which your generous donation can help fund. From matching gifts and foundation giving to one-time program donations, your generosity helps us continue our mission.
Adopt A Project
Every year, CRES (the San Diego Zoo’s conservation research arm) works on dozens of conservation projects all over the world to help protect endangered species and their habitats. Gorillas in Congo, rock iguanas in the Caribbean, koalas in Australia, elephants in Sri Lanka, giant pandas in China, and California condors are among the species that benefit from these projects.
Contributions will be applied specifically to the project you choose to support.
Elephant Habitat Fund
Dedicated to conservation, the Zoological Society of San Diego has made a five-year commitment to assist the Kingdom of Swaziland in its effort to protect its natural wildlife preserves. And you can help, too.
The contributions will be used to preserve Swaziland’s wilderness through the purchase of additional parkland, fence improvements, or the addition of other resources that will aid Swaziland in guarding precious habitat and endangered species such as black and white rhinoceroses. Donate today and with your gift of $25 or more, you'll receive an exclusive elephant screensaver as our thank you for your generosity.

Become
an Ocelot
