This evening you arrive in Delhi, where you are met and escorted to your home for the next two nights, the Taj Palace Hotel.

Day 3~Saturday~March 5 Delhi
Spend today acclimating yourself to your new time zone and exploring one of the most fascinating cities in the world. We will venture off to “New” Delhi. Visit Humayun’s Tomb, built in the mid-16th century by the senior wife of the second Mughal emperor. Continue on your drive along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate, Parliament House, and the president’s residence before arriving back to the Diplomatic Enclave and your hotel where the rest of the day is at leisure.

Days 4/5/6~Sunday/Monday/Tuesday ~March 6/7/8 Guwahati/Kaziranga National Park
This morning fly to Guwahati, where you will have about a five-hour drive to the land of the two-ton Indian rhinoceros, or greater one-horned rhinoceros. The Indian rhino once ruled the wetlands of northeastern India. Hunted mercilessly, it was on the brink of extinction when conservationists finally awoke to its plight. The result, and a successful one at that, is Kaziranga National Park.

Day 7~Wednesday~March 9 Guwahati/Nagpur
Drive back to Guwahati for your flight to Nagpur via Mumbai. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel for the night, Pride Hotel, one of the leading five-star hotels at Nagpur.

Days 8/9/10~Thursday/Friday/Saturday ~March 10/11/12 Kanha National Park
After breakfast, we will drive to Kanha National Park and its lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows, and ravines, which provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling’s famous novel The Jungle Book. The largest wildlife sanctuary in Asia, Kanha National Park was one of the first Project Tiger reserves in India.

Begin another long drive (six hours) to Khajuraho, situated in the northernmost part of Madhya Pradesh. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and then embark on a tour of the eastern group of Temples.

Day 15~Thursday~March 17 Western Temples/Delhi
This morning tour the group of Western Temples, with the most significant of them being the Kandariya Mahadev Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. After lunch, board your flight back to Delhi, where you check into your day room at the RADISSON HOTEL. Following your farewell dinner you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.

Day 16~Friday~March 18 San Diego
This morning finds you in the U.S. with incredible memories of spectacular wildlife, ancient ruins, and incredible people.

Please note: Itinerary may vary due to changes in air schedules, weather, and other local conditions.

We recommend travel insurance
While the San Diego Zoo provides emergency medical and evacuation insurance for all of its tour participants at no additional cost, we highly recommend that all of our travelers purchase additional insurance coverage. Additional insurance should include supplemental medical, lost luggage, and trip cancellation insurance.

It is important that you purchase insurance soon after making your deposit for a tour in order to waive preexisting conditions and to qualify for the "cancel for any reason" coverage.
